JEREMIAH MITCHELL BRAEBACK
As a Technical Theatre student at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, I looked to further my experience by using my skills in real-life settings. Starting with small, local theatrical events in Gresham, I made connections with fellow technicians and designers that lead to me becoming named the Technical Director of Gresham Little Theater in 2004. During my time at GLT, I served as the primary sound and lighting designer and operator, while also designing and constructing a variety of sets and also occasionally performing.
In addition to working GLT, I have also worked Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre as Master Carpenter, Stage Electrician, and Sound Engineer, with the Portland Opera as a Sound Intern in their 2005 production of Street Scene, and most recently with Portland Actors Ensemble as Technical Director, Lighting Designer, and Light Board Operator. Academically, I worked on 9 professional-level productions under the tutelage of Daryl Harrison Carson at Mt. Hood Community College, including the 2004 production of Fahrenheit 451, where I ran Martin John Gallagher (Sound Designer) and Peter Armetta's (Composer) Silver Medal-winning Sound Design at the 2005 World Stage Design in Toronto, Ontario
Since 2008, I have worked with primarily Concordia University in NE Portland, Oregon providing sound reinforcement, stage lighting, videography, and event design and production for their small to medium sized events, from small student-ran events, daily campus chapel. theatre events, 2011 TEDxConcordiaUPortland, Nobel Laureates, concerts, 2012 AHSGR Annual Convention, New Student Orientation, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, President's Receptions, and Christmas Chorale, as well as a multitude of events for off-campus groups.
Cathy often joins Jeremiah on events, assisting in set-up, run, and strike. A life-long theatre fanatic, Cathy began helping with events at Gresham Little Theater, where she served as both House Manager, Assistant Director, Technical Assistant, and Light Board Operator. She studied Technical Theatre at Mt. Hood Community College, where she completed the core coursework to gain the knowledge to assist Jeremiah on various projects that he takes on.
